DAY 1:
NAIROBI


Upon arrival at the airport you will be greeted by a representative of Lindberg Holidays and assisted to the elegant Nairobi Safari Club. The remainder of the day is at leisure for shopping, relaxation or optional city tours. In the evening we will have a safari briefing. NAIROBI SAFARI CLUB.

DAY 2:
MOUNTAIN LODGE


After breakfast we begin our safari and drive North through agricultural farmlands to the famed Mountain Lodge, one of three "tree hotels" in Kenya and arguably one of the best. Each room in this largest wooden storey building has a balcony overlooking a saltlick and waterhole from where you can enjoy the finest game viewing on the slopes of Mt. Kenya . You will visit an open-air market, a hive of activities where the local natives are engaged in sale of their agricultural harvests. We arrive in time for lunch and with enough time to acquaint ourselves with this highly unusual setting. MOUNTAIN LODGE (B,L,D)

DAY 3,4:
SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE


After a hearty breakfast we travel North as we head for the northern frontier district, Samburu/Buffalo Springs Reserve. Game viewing in these parks is excellent and there are species found here that are found nowhere else, such as the beautiful gerenuk and reticulated giraffe. This is an excellent location to see the "BIG FIVE". Samburus, the cousins of the Maasais, harmoniously live with animals in this semi-arid region. You will interact with them in various aspects, including a visit to their homesteads. SAMBURU SERENA LODGE (B,L,D)

DAY 5:
SWEETWATERS TENTED CAMP


Sweetwaters lies in the heart of the privately owned 24,000-acre Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary, enjoying magnificent views across to the snow-capped Mount Kenya . Overlooking a floodlit waterhole, the camp offers visitors an unforgettable opportunity to watch and photograph animals in their natural habitat. Accommodation is provided in luxuriously appointed tents, set under thatch, with en-suite facilities and private verandah. Each tent overlooks the waterhole. Within the quaint, original farmhouse is the dining room, bar and reception. Day and night game drives in four-wheel-drive vehicles, walking safaris escorted by a knowledgeable ranger, bird walks, camel safaris and outdoor dining ensure there is always plenty to do. DAY 6:
MOUNT KENYA SAFARI CLUB



This resort, set exactly on the Equator, was a dream brought to life by the late actor William Holden. It hosts royalty, heads of state, celebrities (including Stephanie Powers , star of the 1980s hit TV series Hart to Hart, a frequent visitor deeply involved in the animal orphanage) and offers all one expects in a luxury resort and more. You will visit a lower school en route to the club. Conde Nast magazines have ranked this as one of the top 20 resorts in the world. MOUNT KENYA SAFARI CLUB (B,L,D)

DAY 7:
LAKE NAKURU


Today we descend into the Great Rift Valley on our way to the world famous bird sanctuary. Lake Nakuru is known for its huge flocks of flamingos and pelicans. Its multifaceted shores and surrounding woodlands are also home to some 400 species of birds, including during the northern winter, many migratory European species. Lake Nakuru is also home to leopard, rhino and Rothschild's giraffe and other game.

DAY 8, 9, 10:
MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE


This morning we bid farewell to Lake Nakuru and take an afternoon flight to the Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch. Masai Mara is the destination of millions of grazing animals traveling North from the Serengeti. It is Kenya 's most renowned wildlife sanctuary. Due to the large numbers of grazing animals, the Mara supports one of Africa 's highest concentrations of predators. Your home for the next three nights will be the beautiful Mara Serena Lodge. This beautiful lodge, set atop a hill overlooking Mara plains, offers an excellent vantage point for game viewing and spectacular sunsets. Here you can experience an included Bush Breakfast by the Hippo Pool. Many people feel that this highlights their trip. While in the Mara you can also indulge yourself in an optional hot-air balloon excursion. You will never forget the experience! MARA SERENA (B,L,D)

DAY 11:
NAIROBI DEPART


One last morning game run, etching Mara scenes in your memory, breakfast, and, though difficult, it's time to meet our plane. The flight back is as beautiful as was the incoming one. We land at Wilson Airport where we meet our drivers and are transported back to Nairobi Safari Club, where day rooms are provided for your comfort. The rest of the day is spent on leisure. You may want to sit and relax or do some last-minute shopping. Tonight we meet once again, for a farewell dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant before you depart for your flight home.

DAY 1:
NAIROBI


Upon arrival at Nairobi you will be greeted by a representative of Lindberg Safaris and transported to the ultra-modern Grand Regency Hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure for shopping, relaxation or optional city tours. In the evening we will have a safari briefing. GRAND REGENCY HOTEL (B).

 

DAY 2,3:
AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK


We begin our safari with a morning flight to the famed Amboseli National Park . Your home for the next two nights is Tortilis Camp. Tortilis is a welcoming blend of rustic style and modern comfort designed to make the international traveler feel comfortable in Africa .
As a winner of the 1995 Southern Region Tourism for Tomorrow Award presented annually by British Airways, Tortilis conforms to the principles of "Eco-tourism", defined by the Eco-tourism Society as responsible travel to natural areas which conserve the environment and improve the residents' welfare. Imagine sitting in the privacy of your verandah in the shade of the picturesque acacia tortilis tree (the camp's namesake), sipping your favorite drink and looking out over the majesty of Mount Kilimanjaro .
If you survey the plains in front of you carefully, you might see several species of antelope, velvet monkeys, a colorful array of bird life, or one of Amboseli's famous huge bull elephants - maybe even a Maasai or two making their way on foot as they have since time began. DAY 4:
SWEETWATERS TENTED CAMP


After breakfast we board our flight forNairobi and drive to Sweetwaters Game
Reserve.

DAY 5, 6, 7:
SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE


After a hearty breakfast we travel to the

such as the beautiful gerenuk, Beisa oryx and the reticulated giraffe.

DAY 8, 9:
LEWA DOWNS CONSERVANCY


Today we drive to Lewa Conservancy. Lewa is a privately owned 45,000-acre game ranch where night game drives and guided game walks can be arranged . A guided horseback ride will take you close to giraffes you can almost touch. This is a wonderful experience for both the novice and experienced rider. Lewa also contains a 110,000-acre rhino sanctuary, and is home to cheetah, leopard, elephant, giraffe and an abundance of plains animals. WILDERNESS TRAILS/OLERAI CAMP (B,L,D).

DAY 10:
MOUNT KENYA SAFARI CLUB

DAY 11,12,13:
MAASAI MARA GAME RESERVE


This morning we take a flight over the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara arriving in time for lunch. The Mara is the destination of millions of grazing animals traveling North from the Serengeti.
It is Kenya 's most renowned wildlife sanctuary.
Due to the large number of grazing animals, the Mara supports one of
Africa 's largest concentrations of predators. Your home for the next
three nights will be the beautiful Mara Intrepids Club .
The luxurious Mara Intrepids Club is a cluster of tents
sheltered in a forest bordering the Talek River .
All tents have four-poster beds, electricity and modern
en suite facilities with hot and cold running water.
A deck for night game viewing of bush babies and other
nocturnal creatures is cantilevered over the river.
The Club offers evening talks and slide shows on the Mara
ecosystem and Maasai culture by the resident naturalist.
Your game drives are in customized 4WD vehicles.
Here you can also experience an optional night game drive using night
vision equipment. This is not to be missed! While in the Mara you can
also indulge yourself in an optional hot-air balloon excursion….

DAY 14:
NAIROBI /DEPART


One last morning game run, etching Mara scenes in your memory, breakfast, and, though difficult, it's time to meet our plane.
The flight back is as beautiful as was the incoming one.

You may want to sit and relax or do some last-minute shopping. Tonight we meet once again, for a farewell dinner before you depart for your flight home.

NAIROBI

Upon arrival in Kenya we are met by Lindberg representatives and transferred to the Five- Star Nairobi Safari Club located in the centre of the City of Nairobi . The day is spent at leisure, shopping for your safari outfit. In the evening we have a safari briefing. Overnight at the NAIROBI SAFARI CLUB (B).

 

DAY 2:
MOUNTAIN LODGE

After a hearty butter breakfast we leave Nairobi and drive North through the agricultural Kikuyu countryside to arrive at Mountain Lodge in time for lunch. Mountain Lodge is one of the three game outlook lodges in the Mt. Kenya region. The lodge is built overlooking a waterhole which animals frequent to have a drink and lick salt. Each room is built with a balcony overlooking the waterhole, thus enabling you to see the animals from the comfort of your room. After lunch the rest of the afternoon is spent viewing the animals at the water hole. In the evenings the water hole is floodlit, giving you an opportunity of seeing some of the nocturnals. Apart from seeing such frequent animals as the elephants, buffaloes, baboons and white and black colobus monkeys, you might see the rare, shy elusive Bongo antelope or even the Golden Cat. Bird viewing is also rewarding, with over 250 species recorded including Jackson 's Francolin, the sparrow hawk, Africa Goshawk, eagles, sunbirds and plovers. Dinner and overnight at the MOUNTAIN LODGE.

DAY 3:
SWEETWATERS

Today after breakfast we will continue with our journey North, passing through the western slopes of Mt. Kenya , across the Equator to the Sweetwaters game sanctuary. Sweetwaters Camp, our new home, is located on a 110,000-acre ranch populated by elephants, zebra, leopards, chimps and the endangered rhino. We arrive in time for lunch. Our activities at Sweetwaters will be chosen from among these options: Camel rides, horse riding, evening game drives and bird walks, not forgetting a tour of the Jane Goodall Chimp Sanctuary. DAY 4:
LAKE NAKURU LODGE

On this day we will drive into the Great Rift Valley, with Lake Nakuru as our destination. Lake Nakuru and the other lakes of the Great Rift Valley are the few geological features of the Earth visible from outer space. Lake Nakuru National Park is world famous for its stunning flocks of the lesser flamingoes, which literally turn its shores pink. We arrive at Lake Nakuru Lodge in time for lunch. After lunch we will have a game drive where we expect to see roam waterbucks, Bohor reedback, zebra, the Black and White rhinos, lions, Rothschild giraffes, White and Black colobus monkeys. The birdlife in Lake Nakuru is plentiful and hence the reason why it is a beacon for leading ornithologists and wildlife filmmakers. LAKE NAKURU LODGE (B,L,D).

DAY 5 & 6:
MASAI MARA

We will drive to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. This is the most famous and most visited game reserve in Kenya . It offers breathtaking views (as seen in the Oscar Award-winning film Out of Africa , much of which was filmed here). We will have a game drive en route to the lodge to arrive in time for lunch. Early afternoon will be spent at leisure, to be followed by a game drive. We need not venture far from the Camp to see large herds of elephants, giraffes, prides of lions and thousands of plains game such as impala, Thompson's and Grant gazelles. MARA SIMBA LODGE.

DAY 7:
NAIROBI

We depart the Masai Mara game reserve after breakfast to arrive in Nairobi in time for lunch. The rest of the day will be spent at leisure at the luxurious Nairobi Safari Club. Last- minute shopping for art and gifts would be ideal at this time. In the evening we will have our farewell dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant.
