Day 1 AMBOSELI NATIONAL GAME PARK

On this day, you will be picked from your hotel in Nairobi and begin the journey to Amboseli National Park. The 215 kilometers journey should take an approximate of three and a half hours. The drive will see you experience a change in both climate and vegetation through the dry and flatland areas along Mombasa road which will eventually turn greener as you head towards Amboseli from Emali junction. Amboseli is a true gem. This is one of the premier National Parks in Kenya and is most famous for its herds of elephants as well as photographic views of Africa’s highest mountain, also the World’s tallest free standing mountain, Kilimanjaro. The name Amboseli comes from the Maasai phrase meaning ‘salty dust’ and is one of the best places in Africa to view free roaming elephants as well as other kinds of wildlife.

You will be staying at the renowned Kibo Safari Camp which is an excellent place in location, design that is in sync with nature and with many amenities to ensure a relaxed time during your stay. Kibo Safari Camp has 73 self-contained tents for single, double, triple and family accommodation. The beds have been custom designed and locally made using bush logs and will ensure a good night’s sleep! All tents have flush toilets, showers, and wash basins. You can enjoy your shower as you like: bubbling hot or refreshing cold. For the duration of your stay in the African bush, Kibo Safari Camp promises to be your home away from home! They also have special meals for all dietary needs and to top it all; In the evenings from 9.00 to 9.30p.m, Masaai morans entertain all guests at the bonfire with their traditional dances and will also explain to you the meanings of their dances and songs. Here, you are encouraged to join in and see if you could jump higher than a Masaai!

In the afternoon, after freshening up, you have the option to go for an evening game drive. Be on the lookout for as many animals as you can see! Dinner and overnight at the Kibo Safari Camp.

Day 2 AMBOSELI NATIONAL GAME PARK

You will have an early morning wake up call, assemble together for some hot coffee before day break then drive off into the park for an early morning game drive. This ensures that you get to spot as many animals as possible as the nocturnal ones go back to their shelter and others gather at watering spots. Be sure to have a camera and catch the spectacular Mount Kilimanjaro just as the sun rises from the other direction. It is a site to behold! There is a high probability that you will spot large herds of elephants as you drive to the Observation Hill which allows an overall view of the whole park especially the swamps and elephants. Amboseli is also a bird-watchers paradise. The eco-system boasts of a rich bird life, with over 400 bird species recorded, including the globally threatened Madagascar Pond-Heron, Lesser Flamingo, Lesser Kestrel, and Possibly Africa’s most sought after bird, the Shoebill which has a-one-time record in the area and over 40 birds of prey. Be on the lookout for any of the Big Five too-the lion, leopard, buffalo, elephants as well as the endangered rhino. You will then drive back to the lodge famished and awaited by a sumptuous buffet breakfast. The rest of the day will be spent in leisure. There are many activities to engage in while at Kibo Safari Camp including swimming, nature walks, massage, art gallery and other in-house activities. In the evening, before dinner you will have the chance for another evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Kibo Safari Camp.

Day 3 TSAVO WEST NATIONAL GAME PARK

After buffet breakfast, you will get ready for another eoic journey to one of the largest Game Parks in the World; the Tsavo National Parks that have been divided into two. Yoou will begin with Tsavo West National park. This amazing park will require a 130 kilometres drive through the scrab and arid lands of lower Nyika. This amazing place is christened as “The Land of Lava, Springs & Man-Eaters” and for a reason. From the sight of fifty million gallons of crystal clear water gushing out of from the under parched lava rock that is the Mzima Springs  to the Shetani  lava flows, Tsavo West is a beautiful, rugged wilderness. The savannah ecosystem comprises of open grasslands, scrublands, and Acacia woodlands, belts of riverine vegetation and rocky ridges including the Poacher’s Lookout where visitors can see the teeming herds in the plains below. Tsavo West offers some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world and attractions include elephant, rhino, Hippos, lions, cheetah, leopards, Buffalos, diverse plant and bird species including the threatened corncrake and near threatened Basra Reed Warbler.

You will be driven through all this natural wonders with guides explaining more at each point until in the afternoon you arrive at your lodge for the night; Ngulia Safari Lodge. The Lodge is perched on the Ndawe Escarpment just below Ngulia Hills, overlooking the Rhino Sanctuary surrounded by Scenic Hills. Ngulia Safari Lodge no doubt has one of the most breathtaking views in Kenya. The Lodge has 52 standard rooms, all with bath and shower and a balcony with a view of the vast wilderness and floodlit water holes. The main restaurant – built in an open-air style, has a view of floodlit water holes and the Leopard bait meet. Guests can enjoy their meals as they watch the leopard feast. Buffet is served at all meals.

You will relax after lunch as enjoy the rest of the day in leisure since there are a lot of activities to engage in. Dinner and overnight at the Ngulia Safari Lodge.

 

 

Day 4 TSAVO EAST NATIONAL GAME PARK

On this day, you will drive across the expansive Tsavo West national park using a different direction and head to Voi Safari Lodge. Make sure to try as much and spot a rhino in the rhino sanctuary. The journey to Voi Safari Lodge will surprise you with the change in both scenery and vegetation. Also, the soil is red on the other side! This will herald your entrance in Kenya’s biggest National Park, Tsavo East. Also referred to as “The Theatre of the Wild”, Tsavo East has sights of dust-red elephant wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300 kilometre long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, make for an adventure unlike any other in the Tsavo East. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephant, Rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species.

The Lodge you will stay in is legendary. Strategically situated Safari Lodge, in one of the World’s Largest Game Park – the Tsavo National Park – Voi Safari Lodge stands high above the town of Voi overlooking a vast expanse of the African Bush. It is 160km from Mombasa City. You can simply watch the herds of wild animals roam beneath you or you can get closer by a network of access roads reaching into many corners of this 11,666 square kilometres Park.

After lunch, you will have a game drive in the late afternoon and return for dinner as well as retiring for an overnight under the hue of the African sky. Dinner and overnight at the Voi Safari Lodge.

Day 5 TSAVO EAST NATIONAL GAME PARK

Still at the Voi Safari Lodge. You will awaken for an early morning game drive and be back in time for lunch as you look below to the expansive plains as animas come to the pool near the lodge. From the Lodge, you can look out onto the three water holes and see the ever-changing Panorama of Africa unfold right before your eyes and at the same time enjoy the luxury of waiters’ service. There is a special ‘HIDE’ for the camera enthusiasts affording close-up and candid pictures of the wild animals which do not suspect any human presence.

This is an ideal spot from which to go out in search of the ‘BIG FIVE’ – Elephant, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino. From Voi you have speedy and easy access to either the Tsavo East or Tsavo West portions of this National Park. Voi is also an ideal for exploring Taita Hills, including the fertile farmland secluded high in Taita hills surrounding Wundanyi, reached by excellent mountain road which affords splendid views as far as the Coast. Also, make sure to take a refreshing dip in the strategically located swimming pool that ensures panoramic views of the park.

Day 6 MOMBASA NORTH COAST

After a rigorous few days of encountering wildlife and a truly classic African safari experience, it will be time for something different! On this day, after having taken breakfast, you will relax a bit and set off towards Kenya’s second largest city and also a major Coastal resort town of Mombasa. The journey from Voi will take approximately two and a half hours allowing you to arrive at the famous Sarova Whitesands Beach and Spa Resort. East Africa’s finest resort, Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa is conveniently located on one of the longest magnificent beach fronts on the Kenyan coast. It takes pride in ensuring our guests enjoy the most relaxing and comfortable stay in tastefully furnished rooms and suites offering Spectacular Ocean, pool and garden views. For dining and entertainment, guests can choose from three themed superb restaurants, two great bars, and the exclusive Cocos Beach Bar, overlooking the beautiful Mombasa Ocean. There are four outdoor swimming pools with water slides, spring board, diving boards and four floodlit tennis courts that also serve as a landing ground for helicopters. A fully equipped wellness and fitness club with state-of-the-art fitness equipment, a PADI diving centre and a host of water sports, like snorkelling and jet skiing are also available. Day 7 and 8 MOMBASA NORTH COAST

This day will be spent at the resort with both breakfast and dinner buffet meals. The Kenyan coast feels like a different world from the savannahs of safari country. Low-lying and sandy, indented by mangrove-lined creeks, and shaded by coconut palms, the coast blends the bright light and colours of the tropics with the sparkling azure-blue of the Indian Ocean, where you squint through the afternoon sunlight to watch traditional lateen-rigged dhows sailing out beyond the coral reef.

Among activities one can do while at the resort include; Lawn Tennis, Beach Volleyball, Table Tennis & Pool Tables, Water Polo & Water Volleyball, Archery and other water sports.

Accommodation is based n Half Board with the option of paying a supplement for lunch. Breakfast and buffet dinners at the resort.

Day 9 TRANSFER AND FLIGHT TO NAIROBI

After breakfast, you will be given a transfer from the resort to the Moi International Airport for a 45 minute flight back to Nairobi where Lindberg representatives will be awaiting to pick you and deliver you back to your hotel.
